Gonyosoma hainanense PENG et al., 2021

A recently described species with a type locality on the Chinese island of Hainan (Diaoluoshan Mountains). Breeding group 3,4 was composed of imported young in 2023, the rearing of young individuals in 2026 was used to study species variability in contrast to the related species G. boulengeri, in private breeding mostly from northern Vietnam, but also from China! Data collection is currently focused on private breeding of G. boulengeri in the Czech Republic. The study of this issue is only in the phase of collecting morphological data (mainly pholidosis of the head, body coloration of adults and young individuals).
